Meet one of our awesome models, Taylor. She originally contacted me to intern as a photographer’s assistant. When she showed up at our first fashion shoot together in January of 2009 as a second assistant, I thought she was beautiful and very stylish.
She assisted several more times. One day, with an uncertain feeling about an out-of-town model who was booked for a magazine job, I made sure to have Taylor on as an assistant. Sure enough, the girl did not come, and our Taylor stepped in. The same day, makeup artist fell through. It was not an easy day, but Taylor did her own makeup, put on sky-high Gucci heels, changed in and out of countless flowy dresses, and posed like a champ. She ended up on a 6-page fashion spread. Naturally we asked her to model for us when we started the shop.
Meet Taylor!
TRH: What would your best friend tell us about you?
T: I think she would tell you, I’m a laid back and genuine person, maybe that I’m a little bit of a wild child and spontaneous.
TRH: It’s been a while since our last photoshoot together. What have you been up to since?
T: I have been attending the Art Institute for photography, traveling, shooting, and most recently went to Vegas for my 21st birthday!!
TRH: Do you like being behind the lens or in front of it better? Why?
T: I would really have to say I love both equally. I love the creative aspect of being behind the lens, making people feel beautiful, and really getting the chance to make a statement with my images. Being in front of the lens is also awesome! I hate to admit it but I love being the center of attention, haha. I also love the glamour of it all, the makeup/ amazing clothes/shoes, and also getting to express myself in front of the lens.
TRH: What did you want to be when you grow up?
T: For a long time when I was younger I was convinced I would become a professional dancer! I danced for 9 years and it was pretty much my main focus until a SLR camera was placed in my hands at age 16. After that it was either a photographer/model/actress.
TRH: How do you see yourself 5 years from now?
T: I hope I will have done my time assisting photographers, and starting my own freelance photography business,shooting for fashion magazines, maybe modeling..etc. Also be married!
TRH: 20 years from now?
T: I hope I will have made a great name for myself in the industry, and have the opportunity to shoot high end fashion and be the director of photography, and still be happily married..and have kids!
TRH: Are you a natural blonde?
T: I am naturally dirty blonde, but i have been bleach blonde for a pretty long time now!
TRH: Do you miss us like we miss you? :D
T: I miss you guys like crazyyyy! I love working with you, assisting and modeling, everything is just fun and usually entertaining!

A set of our photos from early 2007 were requested by an online magazine, BeScenemag. They used one for their Decades Issue cover. Here it is along with the original photos :) The chandelier and lamp are now illuminating our shop. The vanity has since moved to New York City to be with one of our dearest friends.
